‘Spiderman Special’ Camera Lamp
Another piece from Eric Michell of the Restoration Workshop, this lamp is centred around the Yashica Electro 35. Designed in the mid 1960s it was the first electronically controlled rangefinder camera.
It was chosen to feature in the 2012 movie The Amazing Spiderman starring actor Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. A key prop in this famous film and a link to the 1960s, Peter uses the camera in many scenes including Spiderman with Lizardman. The Electro GS, was announced in 1969 and launched in 1970. This GS model included electronic contacts which were gold plated to ensure excellent conductivity. Still stunning in its presentation after 50 years, this camera was especially chosen for the Spiderman Special camera lamp and comes fitted with the matched wide angle lens & special viewfinder. Height 45cm approx.
